Dr.Av Sinan Tafaj is a lawyer with over 40 years of professional experience, with a primary focus on administrative law, property law and construction contracts. He has also served as a lecturer in Constitutional Law and Human Rights at several recognised universities across Europe. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Tirana in 1982, distinguishing himself as one of the most outstanding students of his generation.
He began his career as a legal advisor at the Tirana Court and subsequently at the Tirana Prosecutor’s Office. Between 1994 and 1998, he served as a lecturer in Constitutional Law at the Academy of Public Order, while completing his doctoral studies in Public International Law, which he finalised in 1999 with the highest distinction.
Throughout his career, he has led international expert assignments in the field of human rights and has represented significant civil and administrative matters for individuals and corporate clients, both in Albania and across Europe. In recognition of his professional and social contributions, he has been awarded the “Mother Teresa” Order by the President of the Republic and has received distinctions from leading international institutions, including the OSCE, UNDP, and the Academy of European Law.
From 1991 to 2018, he led the Albanian Association of the Blind and was actively involved in organisations supporting persons with disabilities, contributing as an expert to the development and consolidation of legislation protecting their rights. Since 2018, he has been fully dedicated to his professional practice at Tafaj & Associates.
