Dr. Av. Sinan Tafaj, born on February 17, 1956, graduated from the Faculty of Law in Tirana in 1982, distinguishing himself as one of the most outstanding students of his generation. He serves as a lecturer in Constitutional Law and Human Rights at several prestigious universities across Europe.
Dr. Tafaj has led international expert missions in the field of human rights and has represented high-stakes civil cases for both individuals and corporate entities, both within Albania and abroad. He has been decorated by the President of the Republic with the “Mother Teresa” Order and has received honorary distinctions from major international institutions, including the OSCE, UNDP, and the Academy of European Law.
He began his professional career as a legal advisor at the Tirana District Court, later serving in the Prosecution Office. Between 1994 and 1998, he taught Constitutional Law at the Academy of Public Order while pursuing doctoral studies in Public International Law, which he completed in 1999 with the highest honors.
From 1991 to 2018, Dr. Tafaj, besides being a lawyer, he led the Albanian Association of the Blind and various national disability rights organizations. During this tenure, in addition to his leadership role, he served as a key drafter and member of the legislative commissions responsible for developing disability rights legislation in Albania. Throughout this time, he continued his private legal practice, specializing primarily in property law and commercial contracts.
